Weekend fun!

At Kristopher's work Christmas party, we were the lucky recipients of a one night stay at the Zermatt Resort in Midway. Kristopher has been taking a Saturday class all winter semester, so we jumped at the first (and last before the offer ended) opportunity to take some much needed R&R. We both just finished finals, and Kristopher had a particularly nasty run of it there at the end, so we were both very exited to take some time off before the next semester begins. Our room was pretty good... nice and close to the front entrance so we didn't have to walk too far for anything.

Outside of our window there was a fun little view of this carousel ride. You don't see that everyday!
I forgot to take any pictures, but here is the outside of the resort. It was such a beautiful day! It was a little chillier than Provo, but still warmer than the snow we were getting on Thursday, so we were pretty happy!
After we left Midway, we headed out to Park City to do some shopping at the outlets. Of course we stopped at the Nike outlet store and found these GIANT shoes. I could fit like 3 feet in them! We also found some new dress pants for Kristopher (a steal at $15.00 from Geoffry Bean, originally marked $64.00) and some new suitcases for our trip to California coming up in August (fabulous at $53.00 for a set of 3 from Bass, originally marked $170.00). I think it's safe to say that my love for outlet malls is not a phase.

After shopping, we ate lunch at the Panda in Park City. We ate there on our honeymoon, and I do love me some orange chicken. Kristopher's fortune told him that Saturdays are for doing chores, which we definitely didn't do at all, and mine said that that day would be both lucky and memorable (cue those awesome deals we found at the outlets!) . Unfortunately, if we had been home doing chores we wouldn't have been so lucky! That's when we decided that fortune-maker-upper would be a fun job.
After we rolled into town, we headed out to the ward BBQ/social. Kristopher had lots of fun flying his kite (until it broke. But now he has a new one) and I ended up getting a new calling. I had only been in as a Visiting Teaching Supervisor for about 2 months, but now I am the secretary in the Young Womens! I am way excited to get started!
On Sunday, I gave the lesson in Relief Society. My friend Ashley, who stayed at our house for the weekend since she had to be out of her apartment Friday and not into her new one until Monday, was able to come to the lesson, and my mom who had stake conference was able to make it as well. The lesson was on Julie B. Beck's talk "What Latter-day Saint Women do Best: Stand Strong and Immovable." If you haven't read it yet, I really recommend it! You can find the article here. Kat in my mom's ward designed this awesome handout for me and I had it printed at Costco. I loved the way they turned out! That pretty much sums up the weekend... Tomorrow is my last first day of school, and I am very excited to get started! I anticipate a lot of hard work, but it is a short 8 weeks and then my undergrad will be done!

It looks like you two had a lot of fun! I love outlet malls too, so I totally understand the passion. =)

LOVE the Zermatt. We stayed there for the Grand Opening weekend and had a blast.

How did your mom's friend design those handouts? I love the look!

And watch out--8 weeks will fly right by. Yay for graduating!
